General Information

These are some common questions about our assessments and service

  • NEUROConnect is a specialist Multidisciplinary clinic providing OT, SLT, Behavioural Therapy and Psychological support for children, adolescents, and families.

    We offer a range of neurodiversity affirming assessments and interventions for Autism, ADHD, anxiety, learning difficulties, and socio-emotional/behavioural challenges.

    We also provide Speech and Language Therapy, Behaviour Therapy and Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention services.

  • We provide MDT support for children and young people aged 2–18 years and their families.

    We also provide assessments for adults. 

  • All clinicians are registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland or CORU.

    They have completed relevant accredited postgraduate training and follow the highest standards of ethical and clinical practice.

  • Yes we do. We provide comprehensive ADHD and multidisciplinary assessments for Autism using gold-standard tools such as the ADIR/ADOS-2. Reports include recommendations for home and school.

  • Yes, we provide Psychological, Behavioural, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy assessment and Intervention. We use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) methodologies, Pparent-child interaction strategies and Psychoeducation to support young people and their parents.

Appointments

  • Contact us by phone, email, or via the contact form on our website. Our administration team will be happy to assist with booking.

  • No. While we accept referrals from professionals, such as Pediatricians, parents can self-refer directly to NEUROConnect. 

  • Typically, the clinician will gather background information, discuss your concerns, and outline next steps.

    Your child will participate in one or more play-based, interactional or assessment sessions, which helps us to better understand their needs and determine the most appropriate support or intervention pathways. 

    The outcome of the assessment will be discuused with you, togther with next steps and report provision.

  • Most sessions last approximately 1 - 1.5 hours.

    Some assessment appointments may take longer depending on the type and complexity, e.g., a Dyslexia assessment can take approximately 2.5 hours in total.

  • The number of sessions varies. Some children will only need a few sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing support. We will discuss this with you during your consultation.

  • Where possible, both parents are encouraged to attend the initial consultation, particularly for assessments.

    We accommodate all family situations and recognise that the needs of each family unit are unique. 

  • Please bring any relevant documents, such as, school reports, previous assessments or medical records, if deemed appropriate.

    You may also be asked to bring hard copies of the parent and educator referral forms and/or questionnaires provided (these will be attached to your booking confirmation email) with you on the day of your appointment.

    You might like to bring a snack and drink for your child.

  • Yes. With your consent, we liaise with schools, GPs, and other professionals involved in your child’s care. We also provide written reports to support educational planning.

Fees & Reports

  • Fees vary depending on the service. Please see the services page where we provide a detailed breakdown of assessment and intervention types and the associated costings. 

  • Yes, you can claim a portion of the overall cost through your health insurance, if your policy covers the particular assessment or intervention received.

    Please check with your provider in relation to what your policy covers, e.g., Neurodiversity Assessment. 

  • Yes. Detailed reports are provided following assessments. Additional reports or letters can be requested (fees may apply).

  • Reports are usually completed within 8 weeks (12 weeks maximum) after the assessment process is concluded.

    This depends on the type and complexity of the assessment.

Policies & Practical Information

  • Yes, we do. Parent consultations and selected therapy sessions are available online.

  • Yes. We follow professional and legal standards of confidentiality. Information is only shared with consent, unless there is a risk to safety.

  • For psychological assessment, depending on the referral type, we endevour to see familiies within 3-4 months of the initial date of referral.

    This may differ for SLT, OT and Behaviour Therapy Intervention. We work with families to ensure that they are seen as soon as possible.

  • Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your appointment with us. We require 48 hours’ notice and cancellations made after this time may incur a fee, unless in exceptional circumstances, which will be reviewed on an individual basis.
